Reconciliation Of Christians Urged

Compiled From Wire Services

The Archbishop of Canterbury appealed for reconciliation among Christian denominations at a service Monday marking the beginning of Christianity in England 1,400 years ago.

“There can be no doubt about the blessings which Christianity has brought,” the Most Rev. George Carey told 2,000 worshipers including Prince Charles, heir to the British throne.

“Nevertheless, it is a history which is littered with tragedy and division, the results of which remain with us today.”
