Fire Destroys Newberg Businesses
A predawn four-alarm fire Tuesday destroyed two downtown businesses and forced 30 residents from eight apartments. One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
The blaze destroyed an insurance office and a print shop.
The apartments were above a bakery next to the print shop.
Newberg Fire Marshal Chris Mayfield said the evacuated residents, who fled the building before firefighters arrived, were being cared for by the American Red Cross.
Mayfield said no cause or damage estimate has been determined.
