Chilean Airline Orders Three Boeing Jetliners
The Chilean airline LanChile has ordered three Boeing 767-300 extended-range jetliners, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group said Wednesday.
The three widebody jets, the first of which is to be delivered next April, are worth about $300 million, Boeing said.
LanChile - formally known as Linea Aerea Nacional de Chile - plans to use the planes on trans-Atlantic flights from Chile to Madrid and Frankfurt.
LanChile already flies 10 767-300ERs, which can carry 218 passengers 6,800 miles.
The new planes will be powered by General Electric engines.
