Rain Prompts Flood Advisory
Heavy rain prompted a small stream flood advisory in Spokane and North Idaho Thursday afternoon.
The rainfall came as most North Idaho rivers and lakes either continued to decrease in volume or held steady.
The National Weather Service issued a small stream flood advisory as a storm moved through Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
Rain was falling an inch an hour in the Post Falls area, according to Kootenai County Disaster Services. But the storm quickly moved northeast.
The St. Joe River was still 1-1/2 feet above flood stage Thursday, and was expected to rise another two feet by the weekend. Even at that height, the river is still well below the level it peaked at more than a week ago.
Flood warnings also continued for Lake Pend Oreille, the Pend Oreille River and the Spokane River.
