How about a little reading with your latte, courtesy of Starbucks and Oprah Winfrey?

Beginning next month, Seattle-based Starbucks will sell the Oprah’s Book Club monthly selection from its U.S. retail stores, with net profits going to a literacy fund.

“I am pleased to support Starbucks in its efforts to improve literacy,” Winfrey said in a statement Wednesday. “I believe books open windows to the world for all of us.”

Howard Schultz, chairman and chief executive officer of Starbucks, said the profits from sales of the monthly book club selections would go to a literacy fund within The Starbucks Foundation, then be distributed to literacy programs around the nation.
