Berry Leads Late Run For Blizzard

Shanda Berry had 26 points and 14 rebounds as the New England Blizzard beat the Colorado Xplosion 82-75 Thursday night in the American Basketball League.
Berry’s three offensive rebounds sparked a game-ending 14-3 run. She made a free throw to cut Colorado’s lead to 72-69 with 2:53 left, then grabbed her own miss and fed Carolyn Jones for a 3-pointer to tie it.
After Crystal Robinson gave the Xplosion the lead, Kara Wolters hit a 3-point play with 2:02 left to put New England ahead to stay.
The win was the fourth straight for the Blizzard (6-4).
Tari Phillips led Colorado (3-5) with 22 points. Vicki Hall scored 17 points.
