Crown Resources Reports Loss
Crown Resources Corp. reported a net loss Friday of $1.15 million, or 8 cents per share, for the third quarter of 1997.
That compares with a net loss of $397,000, or 3 cents per share, for the third quarter of 1996.
Included in the losses for the current quarter were noncash property write-downs of $866,000, compared with $43,000 for the same quarter a year earlier.
During the first nine months of 1997, the company spent $2.6 million for exploration, including $1.9 million for projects in Peru and Argentina.
Crown Resources is a joint-venture partner with Battle Mountain Gold on the Crown Jewel open pit gold mine project near Chesaw, Wash.
