Space Debris Lights Up Sky
Residents throughout the Northwest got a bit of a light show late Friday thanks to some space junk.
On its way back to Earth, the debris lit up the sky for a few minutes after 9 p.m. in the form of orange fireballs, according to reports from the North American Space Defense Command in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The space debris landed safely in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Washington, said Milt Maas at the National Weather Service’s Spokane office.
