Hammer, Knife Attack Nets Two Decades In Prison
A Bellevue man who hid in a laundry room for six hours before attacking his ex-girlfriend with a hammer and a kitchen knife has been sentenced to 21-1/2 years in prison.
David Norris, 21, was sentenced Friday in King County Superior Court. A jury in September convicted him of first-degree attempted murder and first-degree burglary.
Norris admitted hiding in the laundry room at Angela Nelson’s home in Bellevue before attacking her as she walked down a hall to her bedroom.
Angela, now 17, had broken up with Norris about a month before the April attack.
She suffered a skull fracture, a collapsed lung, multiple stab wounds and severed tendons in her fingers.
Norris apologized to Angela in court.
“I can’t even imagine what I put you through,” he said.
