Gavin Gaynor and Sarah Hunter, in their first appearances at the 26.2-mile distance, won the men’s and women’s divisions of the Philadelphia Marathon.

Gaynor, 32, of State College, Pa., was timed in 2:19:03. Runner-up Bryan Postma of Bothell, Wash., finished in 2:21:19. Hunter, 24, of Toronto, clocked 2:41:35.

Ezekiel Bitok of Kenya won the first Monaco Marathon in 2:12:15, beating Ahmed Salah of Djibouti by 15 seconds on a course that went through France and Italy. Maura Viceconte of Italy was the women’s winner in 2:28:16.
