Edwards Has Surgery

Brigham Young football coach LaVell Edwards underwent surgery in Provo, Utah, to clear clotting in two arteries that were restricting blood flow to his brain.

Anton Garrity, spokesman for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, said the surgery went as planned, and the 67-yearold coach was in fair condition. He is expected to be released from the hospital today or Thursday.
