Public Hearing Set On Incinerator Rules
Spokane air quality officials have scheduled a public hearing on new emissions standards for municipal garbage incinerators.
The proposed state standards for trash plants burning more than 38 tons of garbage a day are identical to new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards, said Kelle Vigeland, an engineer for the Spokane County Air Pollution Control Authority.
The hearing will be December 4 at 9 a.m. at SCAPCA’s regular board meeting on the lower level of the Spokane County Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway.
