Taxi Driver Robbed By Trio

From Staff Reports

A woman and two men robbed a Spokane taxi driver at knifepoint early Monday, taking his cash and smashing his cellular phone, police said.

The 43-year-old cabbie said he picked up a female passenger about 2 a.m. at Helena and Sprague. She told the driver to go to an address on South Pittsburg, where she could get money, police said.

The driver used her bathroom. He told police that when he came out he was threatened by two men and the woman, who was holding a knife.

He wouldn’t hand over his money and was thrown to the floor.

The robbers took the cabbie’s wallet, keys and phone while the woman held a knife to his throat, police said. The cabbie, who police refused to identify, suffered minor bruises.

No arrests have been made. , DataTimes
