Valley Bus Changes: New, Improved And Eliminated
New or improved
Line 9: (Sprague) - Upgraded. It will arrive every 15 minutes. Its service east of Sullivan replaced by new routes 53 and 54.
Line 9L: (Sprague Limited) - Replaces 12, but peak hours only.
Line 10: (Mission) - Upgraded. 30-minute route lengthened to Sullivan, but some service eliminated in Orchard Avenue neighborhood.
Line 31: (Upriver) - New hourly service from downtown, goes to Upriver Drive and Minnehaha area. During peak times, it continues to Pasadena Park, Millwood and Spokane Industrial Park.
Line 41: (Argonne) - Hourly route replaces existing route 19, extended to Sullivan Transfer Station. Service eliminated west of Argonne.
Line 42: (Pines) - New half-hour line serving Pines Road.
Line 43: (South Valley) - A new hourly route, replaces portions of lines 21 and 22.
Line 44: (East Eighth/Broadway) - New hourly service, replaces part of Line 14.
Line 48: (Pines/Sullivan/Spokane Industrial Park/Liberty Lake Express) - New, replaces route 28. Midday service eliminated.
Line 49: (Liberty Lake Super Express) - New. Offers round trips to downtown Spokane during mornings and evenings.
Line 53 and 54: (Greenacres, Liberty Lake, Otis Orchards) - New. Two buses will run hourly loops all day, heading opposite directions. The buses can go anywhere in these areas if riders call ahead.
Eliminated
Line 12: (U-City Limited) - Replaced by 9 Limited, but only during mornings and evenings.
Line 15: (Crosstown) - Replaced by 5, but it won’t enter the Valley.
Line 18: (Broadway Feeder) - Replaced by 53, service along Broadway eliminated, but Broadway and Pines intersection is served by 42.
Line 19: (Millwood Feeder) - replaced by routes 10 and 41.
Line 20: (Trentwood Feeder) - Replaced by 10 and 41.
Line 21: (24th Avenue Feeder) - Replaced by 42 and 43.
Line 22: (32nd Avenue Feeder) - Replaced by 42 and 43.
Line 25: (Upriver) - Replaced by 31.
Line 28: (Freeway Express) - Replaced by 18 and 49.
Line 37: (Kaiser/SIP) - Replaced by 48.
