New York Expert To Talk On Health Dangers Of Lead

From Staff And Wire Reports

New York lead expert John Rosen will give a lecture on the health effects of lead exposure Oct. 15 at Spokane Falls Community College.

Rosen, a professor of pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, gave two similar talks while visiting the area last spring at the invitation of the Silver Valley Peoples Action Coalition.

The lecture is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the SFCC SUB Lounges A and B, Building 17, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive.

The college is holding a 6 p.m. reception for Rosen, followed by a 7 p.m. panel discussion including members of the People’s Action Coalition.

The People’s Action Coalition advocates public awareness and is seeking public funds for health programs designed to help people in the Silver Valley who have been exposed to lead from mining activities. , DataTimes
