Teen Flees Car Wreck; Guns, Alcohol Discovered
A teenage boy ran from a car wreck Monday on U.S. Highway 395 southwest of Spokane after police found guns and alcohol in his car, the Washington State Patrol said.
The 16-year-old, who remained at large late Tuesday, faces vehicular assault and hit-and-run charges, the WSP said.
He is also a suspect in two Stevens County burglaries, troopers said.
The accident happened at 1:45 p.m., just south of the interchange with state Highway 231. The teen’s 1978 Dodge slammed head-on into a 1983 Nissan driven by Elmo C. Braumer, 76, of Clayton.
Braumer suffered a broken leg and ribs, troopers said. , DataTimes
