Priest Lake Water Level To Be Lowered
The annual drawdown and release of water from Priest Lake will begin Monday, according to the Idaho Department of Water Resources.
The Priest Lake water control structure is owned by the state of Idaho and operated by Washington Water Power Co.
By early November, the lake level will be down about 2 feet. Then WWP will stop controlling the outflow, allowing the lake to recede to a level determined by natural stream flows.
Under normal stream conditions, the lake level will be down an additional 12 inches by early January, according to WWP.
