Woman’s Arm Broken In Purse-Snatching

A teenager broke a woman’s arm when he stole her purse in a NorthTown Mall parking lot Tuesday in Spokane.

The 15-year-old boy, whom police found behind a car in a Crown Avenue apartment lot, had knocked the 40-year-old woman to the ground and dragged her until the purse strap broke, police said.

The boy told police he was running away from home and needed money for food. The boy is being held in the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
