Boy Accused In Gun Incident Kept In Jail

From Staff And Wire Reports

A judge has ruled that 16-year-old Tony Vaile will have to stay in jail while his case works through the courts.

The boy allegedly brought a pistol to Hellgate High School on Oct. 1 and threatened another student with it. Vaile denied the charge Friday in juvenile court.

A public defender asked Special Master Brenda Desmond in juvenile court Friday to release Vaile to his mother’s custody.

Deputy County Attorney Debra Wing said he committed three crimes at the school: criminal endangerment, a felony, and bringing a gun onto school grounds and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
