He Saw, She Saw

Logan Graf Lake City Patrice W

Kiss the Girls

Starring: Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd

The Plot: A forensic psychologist (Freeman) and an escaped abduction victim (Judd) chase down a serial killer whose hobby is collecting talented women.

He saw

“Kiss the Girls” is quite possibly the worst movie I have seen in a long time. Freeman fails in his role of the worried uncle/forensic psychologist.

I’m normally a big fan of Freeman but in this film his character seems flat and unbelievable.

Judd tries but also fails to make the audience feel compassion for her as the strong-willed damsel in distress.

Despite all of this, the end of the film is unique and gives new meaning to the phrase, “Got Milk?”

All in all, “Kiss the Girls” seems like a milder version of “Silence of the Lambs.” It doesn’t quite measure up to my expectations of a good suspense thriller.

She saw

“Kiss the Girls” wasn’t exactly horrifying, but it was quite creepy. Even while trying not to take this movie too seriously, I still detected a scary subliminal message in it that I didn’t like.

The message: Successful women, no matter how cunning or athletically fit, will always be victims without men to protect them. Judd’s character spars with men in her kick boxing class but is seemingly helpless in her own home?

Freeman’s acting, as usual, was brilliant. As for the plot, I found it suspenseful for the first three-quarters, but the ending was unbelievably predictable.

Despite the fact that the underlying message in this movie is sexist, and that I would rather have seen Judd reign supreme without help from Freeman, “Kiss the Girls” was entertaining, thought-provoking and worthwhile.
