Lead Expert To Speak On Health Effects

From Staff And Wire Reports

Lead expert Dr. John Rosen will speak on the health effects of lead exposure at 7 p.m. in the Shoshone Medical Center board room in Kellogg on Thursday.

The talk will follow a presentation at the Spokane Falls Community College student union scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today.

Rosen, a professor of pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, is making a return visit to the area at the invitation of the People’s Action Coalition. He spoke in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene last spring.

The coalition is a group of Silver Valley residents advocating public health programs for people thought to be harmed by mining pollution in the valley.

Rosen’s talk will focus on the connection between environmental lead exposure and health problems in children. , DataTimes
