UW, Whitman Offer Cooperative Degrees
Whitman College in Walla Walla has struck a deal with the University of Washington for students to earn two degrees from both schools in five years.
The so-called 3-2 partnership is the first between a private college and the state-owned UW.
Students will spend the first three years at the Walla Walla campus for a liberal arts education and the last two at the UW in Seattle to study engineering and computer science. Whitman currently does not offer degrees in those technical fields.
Students can begin applying this year. Upon completion of the program, students will have earned a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science degrees.
