Drunk Father Lets Daughter, 8, Drive

A man driving drunk allowed his 8-year-old daughter to take the wheel, then tried to flee after she got into a seven-car accident, police said Monday.

The girl lost control of the car near an intersection Saturday afternoon and hit two cars. Her father grabbed the wheel, slamming into four more cars, police said. Six people were injured.

Police arrested the 27-year-old man on charges of drunken driving, child neglect and causing a hit-and-run accident.

After the crash, the man tried to run away, but people at the scene caught and held him until police arrived, police said.
