Pager Could Help Track Burglar

From Staff Reports

A burglar who crawled through a roof vent to steal from a business over the weekend apparently left a calling card: a pager.

Coins from two cash registers and a vending machine were the only items taken from Sargents Restaurant, according to a Kootenai County sheriff’s report. Linda Winter, the restaurant’s owner, estimated about $47 was stolen, according to the report.

Winter found the pager at the foot of a table where the burglar entered the building. The pager received several pages from two numbers after it was discovered, according to the report.

The burglary was the second in a week, Winter said. No arrests have been made. , DataTimes
