Personal: Age 49 … manager of Zephyr Lodge, a Christian retreat, former minister … has lived in community 18 years … married, two children, both attending EWU … enjoys all sports, particularly golf and fly fishing … seven years on the Central Valley board … never had an opponent.
Education: Bachelor’s in religion from Northwest Christian College … favorite classes in high school, history and English …least favorite, math … favorite author, William Moseley, who has written “Little Yellow Dog” and other mysteries.
Issues: Continue to work for facilities improvement … to implement the essential learnings of the state Education Reform Act … to work on improving our ability to teach and use technology in education.
Accomplishments: Helped with passage of the 1996 bond issue, making possible the remodeling of Bowdish Junior High and construction of Liberty Lake Elementary … continued process of collaborative bargaining with unions … worked on strategic plan, which effects everything the district does.
If I were king for a day: “I would change the fact that we don’t have four-year high schools.”
