Personal: Age 68 … retired … married with two grown sons and one grown daughter … enjoys hunting, fishing, leatherwork, exploring the Internet and working on computers.

Education: Graduate of Brewers High School in Kentucky … Has taken some college courses.

Last book read: “The Bible Code.”

Favorite book: “Once an Eagle.”

Greatest accomplishments: Becoming a chief master sergeant in the Air Force … working to improve the fuels and propellants field … being a good father.

Biggest regret: Not being able to make the changes he feels are needed in the community and country. “I don’t like the status quo in a lot of cases.”

Person he most admires: A variety of leaders, including Gen. Ulysses Grant, Gen. Robert E. Lee, former presidents Ronald Reagan, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman.

One thing he would change: He would like to see state laws changed so that labor and management are on a more even playing field.
