Florida Plane Crash Leaves Three Dead
A small plane trying to land at Tampa International Airport crashed near a runway Monday, killing three of the four people aboard. The survivor was critically injured.
The plane arriving from Sarasota apparently missed its approach and crashed as it banked to the left to make its return, airport spokeswoman Brenda Geoghagen said.
The 1973 twin-engine propeller aircraft is owned by Covington Foods Inc., a Covington, Ind.-based grocery store chain.
Company president Donald Clark, 66, was among the dead, Geoghagen said.
