Nic Student Tells Police She Was Raped In Dorm Room
Police are investigating a rape that allegedly occurred in a North Idaho College dorm room early Sunday.
An 18-year-old woman told police she was raped after attending a party at the River Apartments. The woman, who had been drinking, was coaxed into partially stripping at the party, according to a police report.
After she dressed, two men at the party invited her to go on a walk with them, and they walked to a dorm room on campus. While there, the 18-year-old suspect took off the victim’s shirt and, while his friend held the woman’s hands, he took off her pants.
The suspect pinned the woman down and forced her to have sex with him, the woman told police. The dormitory’s resident adviser told police that she was awakened by a woman screaming “NO,” but could not tell where the scream came from.
A friend of the woman came to the room and helped her to leave. She eventually went to another friend’s house, where she called police. She then went to Kootenai Medical Center for a rape exam.
Police have interviewed three people in connection with the incident, and the investigation is continuing, said Capt. Carl Bergh of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department. , DataTimes
