Dollar Slumps Broadly
The dollar tumbled to a five-month low against the Swiss franc and a four-month low vs. the German mark as a powerful rebound in U.S. stocks failed to erase broad losses that piled up after Monday’s record plunge on Wall Street.
The dollar also finished lower against the Japanese yen and other European currencies.
In early overseas dealings, the dollar was dumped as traders feared another selloff on Wall Street after Asian and European markets fell in reaction to U.S. stocks’ free-fall on Monday.
