Sampras Wins In Paris

Pete Sampras, the world’s top-ranked player, got revenge against Petr Korda, beating him 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals at the Paris Open.

Korda had beaten Sampras at the U.S. Open in five sets this year, ending the American’s chance of winning a third Grand Slam title.

Meanwhile, Richard Krajicek beat Pat Rafter 7-5, 6-2 and Greg Rusedski topped Bohdan Ulihrach 7-5, 6-3.
