There’s An International Soft Drink Summit?
Triarc Cos. said it plans to introduce new flavors and packaging for its Snapple, Mistic and Royal Crown cola drinks within the next three months, as the nation’s fourth-largest soft-drink maker seeks to boost sales by distinguishing its brands.
Triarc beverage unit head Michael Weinstein spoke about the changes at the International Soft Drink Summit in New York.
Among the major changes will be an introduction next month of a line of 100 percent juices called Snapple Farms. The juice flavors will include apple, orange, grapefruit and peach. Also, RC Cola’s Diet Rite cola will be offered in two new flavors, iced mocha and lemon sorbet next year.
The moves come as Triarc seeks to distinguish its drink lines with off-beat flavors and marketing in an increasingly crowded juice-drink and flavored-tea market”It can give them something that nobody else has,” said PaineWebber Inc. analyst Emanuel Goldman. “RC is looking to do things that other people aren’t. Don’t look for Coca-Cola to introduce a Diet Coke lemon sorbet.”
