Bull Gores American During Run

Compiled From Wire Services

A bull gored an American competitor in the final day of a bull run in central Spain, police said.

John Convoy was in serious condition after a bull hooked him in the leg and groin on Saturday, hospital authorities said. The Spanish news agency EFE said the man is a former U.S. Marine from New Jersey.

The bull run in the town of San Sebastian de Los Reyes, six miles north of Madrid, was part of a nine-day festival celebrating the town’s patron, The Christ of Remedies.

Injuries are frequent in bull runs, where bulls sprint through the streets to the ring with runners alongside them.
