Construction Manager Named For UI Project

The University of Idaho Commons project, a $16.5 million, 78,000-square-foot complex at the heart of the campus, is one step closer to becoming a reality with the naming of a construction manager.

Hoffman Construction Co. will serve as the construction manager for the project. University of Idaho President Bob Hoover announced the selection Friday.

The Commons building is the initial phase of a two-part project that includes renovation of an existing classroom center. The university is seeking $9.5 million in state dollars to renovate the University Classroom Center into a new Teaching and Learning Center.
