Chinook Pass To Close Sept. 15 For Repair
A five-mile section of Washington 410 at Chinook Pass will close Sept. 15 to allow crews to repair damage done by a landslide, the state Department of Transportation said.
The highway, which will be closed from just east of the summit to Morse Creek, will reopen Sept. 26 at the latest, DOT said.
Crews will build a retaining wall, install a guardrail and pave the road.
The entire $204,645 project is expected to be finished in early October.
The roadway was damaged by a slide in February 1996, when Chinook Pass was closed for the winter.
