Woman Charged With Arson In Fire Outside Mobile Home
A Coeur d’Alene woman suspected of starting a fire outside a mobile home was arrested Sunday on a first-degree arson charge.
Monale D. Bradford, 34, is suspected of setting fire to her former boyfriend’s single-wide trailer near Honeysuckle Avenue and Ramsey Road.
Dale Cole, 32, told Kootenai County sheriff’s deputies he had recently broken up with Bradford and she had destroyed some of his belongings.
A neighbor discovered the fire near the steps to Cole’s home about 12:05 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters found a melted red plastic gas can left in Cole’s yard.
Deputies arrested Bradford several hours later. They followed a trail of singed hair from her car to her apartment and found her icing burns to her arms, according to a sheriff’s deputy’s report.
Bradford denied starting the fire and told deputies she burned herself lighting a barbecue.
An estimate of damage to Cole’s home was not available.
