Danny McIntyre scored less than 4 minutes into the match Friday, then added a second-half goal in the University of Detroit’s 4-0 win over Washington State in a women’s match at Minneapolis.

The Titans (2-0) have outscored opponents 9-0. WSU (1-1) hadn’t lost by such a margin since a 1995 match against third-ranked Portland.

Detroit’s Kristi Elliot recorded four saves.

The Cougars stay in Minneapolis to play the host and 25th-ranked Golden Gophers Sunday morning.

Men

Defending West Coast Conference scoring champion Jeff McAllister broke a scoreless tie at 62:21 and Gonzaga University (2-0) held on for a 2-1 win at Nevada-Las Vegas in the Coors Light Invitational.

Brian Ching lifted the Zags to a 2-0 lead at 76:20.

Daniel Scholes of the Rebels (0-1) ended goalie Josh Fouts’ shutout bid with 5 minutes left.
