University of Montana running back Josh Branen of Moscow, Idaho, has been selected as a 1997 Burger King College Football Scholarship award winner, earning the school a $10,000 donation to its general scholarship fund.
This is the third straight year Burger King Corp. is donating a total of $1 million to general scholarship funds to honor college football seniors who maintain high academic standards, excel on the field and are actively involved in the community.
A 5-foot-7, 185-pounder, Branen maintains a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in pre-physical therapy. Last season he was named to the Division I GTE Academic All-American team.
