Wisconsin’s Dayne Looks For Redemption Vs. Boise
Injured halfback Ron Dayne, eager to atone for rushing for only 46 yards in Wisconsin’s season opener, is expected to play today against Boise State despite a sore neck.
The Badgers’ featured rusher has been bothered by a pinched nerve in his neck throughout training camp and during the Badgers’ 34-0 loss to Syracuse Aug. 24.
Dayne practiced during the week without contact.
If he is unsteady against Boise State, coach Barry Alvarez said Thursday, he will be summoned to the sidelines.
Alvarez said he would not risk a season on one game.
“If Ron’s not ready to play, he’s not going to play,” Alvarez said. “I have already made up my mind that if he has soreness, he won’t play.”
