Fredericks Outruns Bailey Again

Frank Fredericks beat Donovan Bailey again and Merlene Ottey gained revenge against Marion Jones in the 100-meter races at the Toto Super International track and field meet.

Fredericks won the men’s 100 in 10.04 seconds, .14 seconds ahead of Bailey. The Namibian also beat the Canadian last month in Europe.

In the women’s 100, Ottey, the 37-year-old Jamaican, clocked 10.83, beating Jones by .08 seconds

In the 200, American Inger Miller won in 22.77.

At 400 meters, Jearl Miles-Clark won in 50.16. Kim Batten won the 400-meter hurdles in 54.38.

Americans Antonio Pettigrew and Derek Mills finished 1-2 in the men’s 400.
