Naked Came The Stranger Into House

Virginia De Leon Staff writer

He could’ve at least kept his clothes on.

But he didn’t. Instead, Jason L. Easttum got naked and walked into a Clarkston, Wash., home at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The owner of the house called police after she found him sleeping on the couch.

“She didn’t have any idea who he was and why he entered the residence,” said Chief Vertie Brown of the Clarkston Police Department. “He was just lying there without any clothes on.”

A 29-year-old Clarkston resident, Easttum was ranting to himself when two officers arrived at the house, police said. Easttum, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, refused to answer questions. Although passive at first, he suddenly became violent when police tried taking him out of the house, Brown said.

He flailed his arms and kicked the two officers. After being handcuffed and led to the car, Easttum escaped and started screaming as he ran naked down the street.

He was quickly apprehended, Brown said. Police later found his clothes in the street. His pockets contained his ID and a marijuana pipe.

Easttum had been at a nearby residence before falling asleep on the woman’s coach, Brown said. Although he knew the residents of the first house, he left after he “began to act crazy and kick things,” Brown said.

Easttum was booked into jail on charges of residential burglary, three counts of third-degree assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.
