Man Accused Of Trying To Start Brush Fire

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 47-year-old intoxicated man was arrested Saturday night after a passerby reportedly saw him trying to start a fire.

Thomas Letsch was booked into jail for second-degree reckless burning, said Dick Cottam, police spokesman.

A passerby told police a man ignited paper then twice threw it into dried brush near Sprague and Division at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Cottam said.

The fires caused no damage and were put out by the Spokane Fire Department.
