Radio Station Owners Form New Company

From Staff And Wire Reports

Owners of country station KCDA-FM and rock music station KNJY-FM said they have formed a new company, Washington Broadcasting Corp., to compete in the consolidating marketplace.

Washington Broadcasting Corp. purchased classic rock station KEZE-FM and religious station KTSL-FM for more than a million dollars each, said John Rook, president of Washington Broadcasting Corp. and former owner of KCDA-FM of Coeur d’Alene.

The purchase of KEZE has been approved by the Federal Communications Commission and the purchase of KTSL is still awaiting approval, Rook said.

Washington Broadcasting hopes to gain anywhere from 12 to 18 percent of the audience market in the future, he said.
