Dollar Mixed Ahead Of Trade Data

The dollar was mixed against other major currencies Wednesday as traders awaited the release of a key report on Japan’s trade surplus amid escalating tensions with the United States.

Strong German economic data pushed the dollar lower against the mark. The dollar rose narrowly vs. the yen, but traders were hesitant to make major moves after Tuesday’s plunge.

In late New York trading, the dollar was quoted at 119.31 yen, up from 118.93 late Tuesday. It also was changing hands at 1.7990 marks, down from 1.8135.
