Starbucks Shifts Advertising Accounts
Fri., Sept. 12, 1997
Starbucks Coffee Co. said Thursday it will shift its advertising accounts to BBDO West from Goodby Silverstein & Partners Advertising of San Francisco.
Both agencies are part of Omnicom Group Inc., a New York-based advertising and marketing holding company.
The Seattle-based coffee retailer said its design work, formerly provided by Goodby, will now be handled in-house at Starbucks, Dow Jones News Service reported.
Starbucks said it shifted accounts because it was “unable to agree on a future path for advertising” with Goodby, which had provided advertising for the past two years.
