Bf, Newport Win

The Bonners Ferry boys and New port girls were the team winners Friday at the Kellogg Invitational cross country meet at the Pinehurst Golf Course in Kellogg.

Bonners Ferry, led by Josh Sherber, who won individual honors with a time of 16 minutes, 25 seconds for 5 kilometers, had the top three finishers and five of the first 10.

The Badgers scored 19 points, outdistancing Lewiston (70) and Rocky Mountain Academy (125).

In the girls race, seven teams had a runner place in the top 10, led by winner Nicole Maloney of Sandpoint (19:17).

Newport scored 39 points, followed by Potlatch (92) Moscow (99) and Sandpoint (100).
