Dollar Drops On German Rates

The dollar was lower against other major currencies Monday as Germany’s top central banker hinted at higher interest rates and traders reconsidered the strength of Europe’s planned common currency.

While the dollar was slightly lower against the yen in light trading, it fell against the mark for the fourth straight session, continuing to reach lows not seen since early July.
