Foedisch Leads CV Past Shadle

Angie Foedisch’s goal at the 72-minute mark earned Central Valley a 4-3 Greater Spokane League girls soccer win over visiting Shadle Park on Monday night.

Shadle Park had rallied to take the lead early in the second half. Kristen Hawley’s two goals put the Highlanders ahead 3-2 before Foedisch scored the match’s last two goals a little more than 20 minutes apart.

Jaimie Vanos had three assists for Shadle.

Heather Sale and Leah Brereton each had a goal and an assist as the Titans (2-0) crushed the visiting Indians.

Brereton’s goal came on a 45-yard shot. The Titans outshot the Indians 27-5.

Laura Oliva’s goal from 17 yards out early in the first half got the scoring started for the Bullpups as they cruised to victory over the Tigers.

Prep’s Shaynie Leonard, an All-GSL player last season, made four saves in goal as well as adding a goal and an assist.

Despite having to contend with a blustery wind, Tiffany Brus had a strong game in goal with 10 saves as Rogers blanked the Wildcats.

Holly Rushing’s high ball from 25 yards out at 55 minutes got the Pirates started.

Visiting Mead defeated Ferris in a matchup of last year’s two GSL state playoff teams. Danelle Zelinski’s goal at 53 minutes gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead and they held on for the win.
