Attitude is rubbish

On garbage collection day, I put out two containers of crushed cans and metal lids expecting these items to be picked up by the recycling vehicle. The driver refused to accept the metal cans and lids because:

Removed lids or caps are not included in the recycling program.

Material was placed in a different container than the bin-gee.

It was interesting to note that the driver took the time to leave a note, but apparently found it too difficult to pick up the clean, nicely crushed cans.

This type of attitude is cause enough to quit going to all the bother of crushing the cans and preparing them for recycling.

From now on, I will wash the empty cans and include them with other garbage.

Also, the canning companies have made it more difficult to crush the cans as the top of the can is made to accept a can-opener, but the bottom of the can is rounded so a can-opener cannot be used on it. Lloyd Oberst Spokane
