Grant County Man Shot, Injured

A Grant County man remained hospitalized Thursday after being shot in the leg twice during a fight in Lakeview, Wash.

Daniel Coby Vanbuskirk, 25, of Soap Lake was shot in the right thigh with a 12-gauge shotgun, sheriff’s deputies said.

Witnesses told deputies that David Eugene Smith, 49, of Lakeview fired two shots at Vanbuskirk and two shots at Scott James Cook, 21, of Ephrata during a fight about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Cook was not injured.

Smith remained at large late Thursday and is thought to be driving a black 1979 Chevrolet van. Deputies consider him armed and dangerous.
