Harvey Half Way To First Win

Nancy Harvey’s second-round 68 gave her a 9-under total and two-shot lead in the LPGA Welch’s Championship in Canton, Mass. She has never won a tour event.

Liselotte Neumann, tied with Harvey after the first round, shot a 70 to drop into second. Clarkston’s Robin Walton shot a 74 and missed the cut by a stroke.

Australian Bradley Hughes had an eagle and seven birdies in a course-record-tying 64 that gave him a one-stroke lead over Duffy Waldorf after the second round of the LaCantera Texas Open in San Antonio.

Simon Hobday had birdies on three of his last five holes in a 7-under-par 65 and held a one-stroke lead after the first round of PGA Senior Tour’s Comfort Classic at the Brickyard in Indianapolis. John Morgan and Dana Quigley both had 66s while David Graham was another stroke back.

Spokane’s Larry Becker has a two-round total of 159 to place sixth in the 55-59 age group in the Budweiser PNW Senior PGA tournament in Pasco.
